Southall Waterside is a large-scale development that is scheduled to deliver homes, retail and community facilities. By locating a new training facility in the heart of the site, students can directly progress from the classroom to construction of this significant site, providing the skills necessary to meet the demands of delivery.
We joined our sister company and architects Useful studio, to help designing the entrance signage and supergraphics for the façade of this innovative spirit building.
Based on the concept of how a two dimensional line can expand to a three dimensional form, we explore the dept and motion that line can experience, mirroring the construction design process. Folding out the building to run a live set of lines around and come back to flat once is installed in the façade.
The Academy was completed in Autumn 2018, ready to welcome the future of construction in the UK and to become a model for skills learning can be replicated at other sites across the country.
